Straighten Your Teeth – At Any Age!
Your smile is one of the first things others notice about you and can indicate happiness, friendliness, and confidence. Many adults hesitate to flash their teeth out of fear they aren’t as straight or healthy looking as they’d like. This common aesthetic concern can be addressed at Grandview Center for Dentistry with Invisalign® clear aligner treatment.
What Is Invisalign ®?
You’ve probably seen the ads for Invisalign® aligners – the clear way to straighten teeth and create a healthy smile. It’s safe, easy, and relatively quick. The average treatment time lasts about one year, which is not only half of the time it usually takes for traditional metal braces to do the trick, but it happens without the discomfort and visibility of the brackets and wires.

How Does It Work?
The first step is a consultation with Dr. Lervick. After she takes digital x-rays, she’ll be able to map out a precise treatment plan that includes the movements of your teeth and the length of time your treatment will take. You’ll even get to see a preview of your new smile! After this, you’ll visit the office every month or two to have your progress checked and get a new set of aligners.
You’ll need to wear the aligners for 20-22 hours a day for the best results, which means taking them out only to eat and conduct your oral hygiene routine. The great news is that you won’t have to worry about staying away from your favorite sticky or crunchy foods, and you won’t experience the difficulty that comes with trying to remain food debris from hardware.
Am I A Candidate?
If you require significant bite alteration or movement along the vertical axis, Invisalign® may not work for you. However, doctors have been able to treat the following concerns with Invisalign® clear aligners:
- Gapped Teeth
- Overbite
- Underbite
- Open Bite
- Overcrowding
- Crossbite
What Happens After Treatment?
In order to keep your newly straightened teeth from shifting back to their initial position, you’ll need to wear a retainer. You have a few different options to choose from, and Dr. Lervick can help you determine what will work best when showing off your new smile!
