Straighten Your Teeth at Any Age with Invisalign!

Your smile is one of your identifying traits and likely the first thing many people notice about you when making a first impression. Your smile can convey many emotions and feelings, including happiness, friendliness, and confidence. However, when your teeth are not as straight as they should be, your smile can also convey a lack of confidence and unhappiness when you are not showing it off.

If your teeth are out of alignment, Invisalign clear aligners are an excellent option for enhancing your smile. Dr. Bridget Lervick and our team at Grandview Center for Dentistry are happy to treat patients with mild to moderate bite problems right here in our office. As an official Invisalign provider, we are your partner for straighter, more beautiful teeth.

The Invisalign Treatment

You have likely heard of Invisalign before. You’ve probably seen an ad for Invisalign on the television or heard one on the radio. Invisalign is the clear way to straighten teeth and create a healthy smile. Invisalign is an easy, safe, and quick way to bring your teeth into proper alignment. Using clear aligners that gradually shift your teeth into their correct position, Invisalign treatment typically lasts about a year. This is half the time it takes traditional braces to work, and Invisalign doesn’t require any uncomfortable metal brackets or wires to get the job done.

The Aligners

When you choose Invisalign, you will receive a set of custom-molded, clear, removable aligners that will, over time, progressively shift your teeth into their correct position and alignment. These aligners are easily removable, so you can take them off when you need to eat, brush and floss your teeth, or any other time necessary. The technology behind Invisalign’s clear aligners makes them more comfortable, convenient, and discreet than traditional braces.

The Invisalign Process

The Invisalign process could not be easier or more convenient. When you visit our office, we will use our iTero intraoral scanner to create a three-dimensional image of your teeth. This removes the need for any physical impressions. Using the 3D image created by our iTero scanner, we can then show you a simulation that will create an image of your new smile before deciding on the best treatment plan for you.

Once you visit Dr. Lervick for a consultation and all imaging has been completed and your aligners fabricated, you will receive your clear aligners. These aligners must be worn for 20-22 hours daily to see the best results. You should take them out only when eating or performing your at-home oral hygiene routine. Because your aligners are easy to remove, you won’t have to restrict yourself from eating your favorite sticky or crunchy foods as you would with traditional braces.

The Benefits of Invisalign

Studies show that nearly three-quarters of Americans could benefit from teeth that are straighter and properly aligned. A correctly positioned smile is not just for appearances. It is also essential for optimal oral health. Teeth that are crowded or angled due to improper alignment can lead to difficulties keeping them clean because plaque can build up on areas of the teeth that are hard to reach. This can lead to issues such as gingivitis, periodontal disease, and bone loss.

Frequently Asked Questions About Invisalign

What is Invisalign Treatment?

The Invisalign treatment involves the wearing of a series of clear plastic aligners. These aligners are removable and are the catalyst behind your gradually shifting teeth. No wires, brackets, or metal are needed, like with traditional braces.

What Is the Cost of Invisalign?

The cost of Invisalign can vary from patient to patient because everybody’s needs are different. Some patients will need less work done than others, which will factor into the cost. Invisalign can be as affordable as $99 a month in some cases.

What Happens Once Treatment Is Complete?

Because your teeth can relapse to their position before your Invisalign treatment, you will need to wear a retainer. We offer a few different options you can choose from, and Dr. Lervick can help you make the choice that will work best for you and your new and improved smile.

What Are Invisalign Aligners Crafted From?

Invisalign created and developed their very own SmartTrack plastic, which they then patented. No other clear aligner is made from this flexible, comfortable SmartTrack plastic. It is exclusive to Invisalign and is FDA-approved, containing zero BPA, BPS, latex, or gluten.

How Long Is the Invisalign Treatment?

The length of your treatment will depend on various factors, including the complexity of your misalignment or bite issue and how consistent you are with wearing your aligners for the recommended 20-22 hours a day. Dr. Lervick will determine the specific time of your treatment, but on average, the typical Invisalign treatment time ranges from eight months to a year.
